Arguineguin is the destination on the Canary Islands with the best preserved Canarian distinctive and peaceful everyday life. Here Europeans from many different countries live side by side with the locals. The athmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Most people find the area more charming than Grand Canarys noisy tourist places. You won't be followed by sellers at the beach nor in the shops. The fishermen come to shore every morning with fresh fish you can enjoy on the nice restaurants and cosy beach bars in the area. If you want nightlife, both Puerto Rico and Playa del Ingles are within reasonable taxi distance.

Many Europeans have settled in Arguineguin due to health problems. The Worlds Health Organisation (WHO) has appointed the climate on the south coast of Grand Canary as one of the best in the world. The air is clean, and the sun shines all year round. The average daytime temperature varies from 21 degrees in January and February to 26 degrees in September and October. The water temperature varies from 18 to 23 degrees.

The village consists of an older village center with shops, banks, workshops, cafés and restaurants by the port. You can find a medium size shopping centre further up in the village. Along the sea you will find most of the hotels. The apartments lie in the hills above the ocean. Our apartment to let lies in Patalavaca, a village grown together Arguineguin. The main road has now been put outside Arguineguin, and there are no longer traffic problems in the village. With the new highway it takes about 40 minutes to get to the airport. Crime rates are low, and there is a 24 hour casualty clinic in the village.
